I believe that poetry is something that can be very enjoyable for students if done in the correct way. Instead of doing it as a unit chunk, where students may get tired of the repetitive nature, I think it is best to spread it throughout the year.

As listening, speaking, reading and writing poetry is in our desired outcomes, I have developed a schedule of learning for a variety of poetry for us to learn and write about weekly.

On top of that, the students will be given a short poem to memorize at the beginning of the month. At the end of the month, they will be asked to present these with their own flavor.See attached for links to monthly poems.
